For all those who are looking for a quick dessert made with original ingredients, I suggest you try these olive oil cookies.
This ingredient surprises you? Well, there is a second mystery ingredient that is just as surprising and that is ... applesauce.
Olive oil adds a little fat to the dough to make it soft but to get a better texture, we add applesauce which allows the dough to blend and adds even more moisture.
Even if you're not a fan of apples, don't worry. Once baked, the cookies will taste sweet and subtle and you won't taste apples or olive oil.
To keep this recipe healthy, I recommend using wholemeal flour but this recipe also works with classic white flour.
As with traditional cookies, hazelnuts or walnuts can be added to taste. Any occasion is good to add your personal touch!
